Those looking for more information regarding agriculture and farming will have an opportunity to participate in an all-day regional agricultural symposium in Rocky Lane.
The event will be hosted at the Rocky Lane Agricultural Hall on Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch.
Topics of diversification opportunities for small and large farms, such as business development options, will be discussed.
Holly Sorgen will be a keynote speaker, who will speak on diversification opportunities in the north.
A number of other knowledgeable local speakers will facilitate a round-table discussion on regional and economic opportunities for agricultural businesses, how to start up a business in agriculture, and diversification opportunities in Mackenzie County. Training resources, contacts and other services will also be available.
This opportunity is brought to Rocky Lane by Community Futures, the Government of Alberta, REDI (Regional Economic Development Initiative), FCSS, Green Hectares, Mackenzie County and Northern Lakes College.
Door prizes will also be provided. Anyone interested in participating can contact Lee at 841-4152, Barb at 247-1860 or Dan at 926-7314 for more information or to register.
